Photograph #TF91731 viewsWe love days in winter when the snow has covered the trees to form a white shroud over the landscape. This was such a day and Dick captured a monochromatic effect on colored film.

Photograph #CL11472 viewsIthaca College overlooking Cayuga offers a beautiful view of the lake. Dick took the elevator to the Tower Restaurant on a very clear summer day setting his camera next to an open window. If you look carefully you can see the many sailboats under puffy cumulus clouds.

Spinnackers on Cayuga.jpg
Photograph #CL31377 viewsThe weather was perfect for the annual fall regatta with the wind out of the northwest. With their spinnakers up, the sailboats glided by Glenwood Point on their race down the lake.

Photograph #TF31363 viewsThe Taughannock gorge becomes a pallet of brilliant autumn colors in mid-October. A day of light rain seems to enhance the colors.
Dick travels to the overlook area often at this time of year.

Sunrise at Treman Park.jpg
Photograph #RT11316 viewsAs we round the first turn at the upper end of Robert Treman Park, this beautiful scene greets us. Dick arrived early on a clear spring day and positioned his tripod in the water facing the bridge. The early rays of the rising sun illuminated the scene with a golden glow reflected in the nearby surface of the creek.

Photograph #TF61226 viewsRainy days seem to offer the right kind of weather to bring out the best in the falls. On this particular day, in late autumn, with no wind to disturb them, the water drops hanging from the branches gave an interesting new dimension to the scene.

Photograph #BF11166 viewsAfter Labor Day the swimming area is closed and as the cooler weather arrives there is a scarcity of picnickers in the park. In October the lower waterfall forms a backdrop for the yellow autumn foliage.

Photograph #RT31126 viewsThe view from the upper bridge at Robert Treman looks back at a picturesque little waterfall which cascades into the creek below the bridge. Dick used a slow shutter speed to capture this autumn scene producing a soft water effect.
